Memorial Fund

On Thursday August 9, 2001 Gary Simmons, Rick Feiler and myself decided to see what interest there is to erect a granite memorial to the 50+ men who died on duty at the Ardmore Army Air Base/Ardmore Air Force Base while at Gene Autry, Oklahoma. The base was a B-17 combat crew training center during World War II and home for the 463rd Troop Carrier Wing during the Korean conflict.
The memorial will be made from the same Autumn Rose granite as the American Flyers Memorial stone that is already located at the airpark. This particular granite is from a quarry at Mill Creek, Oklahoma.
If you would like to make a pledge, please let us know by email. Remember, we are only taking pledges at this time. When we have raised enough money through pledges to purchase the granite stone, then everyone who has pledged will be notified to mail in their money. My email address is:
